Current Times

Zasha began to settle into life in Hollow. She enjoys the company of the family and friends she's found so far. But, always lingering in her mind was the thought of Linas. If he came for her, she knew she would go with him. She didn't have it in her to kill him, and she knew it when she threatened him. Linas had followed Zasha to Hollow. He hid in the shadows, watching her adjust to her life. She would eventually figure out that he had killed Toby. He had left his initials, anymore clues and he'd have spelt it out for her. She would know that he was here, that she was leaving with him, and that she would never leave him again. He'd make sure of that. Zasha began to feel him watching her. She even lost herself to his powers occasionally, endangering the people she cared for most.

She packed and readied herself to leave Hollow. She would do whatever she had to if she could save her family. Once she figured out he was there, it was a short step to understanding that he had killed Toby, to realize that he would kill everyone until her got her back. She encountered Linas on the outskirts of Hollow. She swore to come with him if he spared her family. When she affirmed that she was leaving for them rather than him, he swore to kill them all. Knowing she couldn't kill him and would die for the effort, Zasha attacked Linas. She was beaten to the ground, and, when he left, she wasn't moving.

Linas went into Hollow and attacked Lilian and Sabine. He tried charming and seducing them first, failing miserably. Lilian faked interest and the two women drained him for killing Toby and Zasha. They each took their trophies and left him for the buzzards. Travelling their own ways, they didn't know how to break that Zasha was gone. They didn't even want to think about it.

A few days later, Zasha awoke from her beating. Looking around, she found the oak bow she had hunted with in Searcy and the forest green dress she had been in when she first encountered Linas. She walked into Hollow, fearful of what she would find. There was a great happiness on everyone's part to find each other alive. Zasha's heart broke though, for the man she had fallen in love with. He really wasn't so bad. Things began to settle down then.

Switches to Zasha's inner feelings and thoughts.

Zasha was scared. Everyone and everything reminded her of Linas. She had evil in her, she knew that from the first day she was bitten. Her father was possessed when he created her and then an evil man turned her. The evil was in her veins, in her heart. She couldn't feed from people for fear of being exactly what Linas had thought she was. In his eyes, she had been a hunter, a killer, the perfect mate. Looking at her hands, she thought of all the blood that would cover them if it was true that blood didn't wash clean. She had the instincts and the skills of a killer. She didn't want the chance to prove that she was one. She hid away from people. She wasn't just hiding her monster, she was also hiding from other's inner demons. Thanks to Sabine, Lilian, and Nalsatu, she had met some people in Hollow. More than one of them had an inner demon of some sort. Sabine had Bine, Lilian had Natalia, and Fury has Demonika. Zasha had never encountered Fury's demon, but that didn't stop her from sensing it. Fury scared her. Zasha enjoyed hiding in the forests. She was safe from people there or perhaps they were safe from her. She wasn't really sure yet. She may even have been trying to save herself from.. herself. She chased, hunted, killed, and fed off the animals managing to survive without taking of human blood for awhile. She was growing weaker though, she could feel herself dying. But she was stubborn, and she fought the urge to feed.

In Zasha's weakened state, she sleeps a lot. She could be walking along the woodland paths, and then she'd suddenly be on the ground, asleep. Her dreams can not really be called dreams. They are visions. They are her nightmares. Her killer runs loose, she feeds at will, and Linas runs beside her laughing as the blood streams off her face. Zasha always wakes believing it would be better to die than to become that monster, and so she fights. A part of her misses Linas and always will. He was different from everyone else she'd ever known, he had nothing to lose really, and that generally made him dangerous. She could still hear him sometimes, in her head. And she knew, she couldn't fight him forever.

On the brighter side of things, Griff and Vash were somehow raised from the dead. Sabine and Bine sprouted wings. Fury and Nalsatu seem to be looking into getting back together. Lilian and Arioch are engaged to be married. Everyone's lives began to get back on track, except Zasha's. Her life could never fix itself until she accepted the blood in her veins and the monster in her heart. That was something she never wanted to do, no matter the cost to her.

Switches to Zasha's life again.

Zasha knelt behind the small, green bush nearby. Her diet lately had consistently been merely a lack of food. She sought out animals for food. Her affinity for feeding from people cursing her desire for blood. She had been constantly growing weaker, and now she sat and watched the biscuits and potatoes she had set out for bait. Her tiny form fit neatly behind the bush now. Quietly slipping in and out of sleep whenever she stood still, she began to doze now. A quiet noise in the brush grabbing her attention, she watched the tiny rabbit hop cautiously towards the bait. She waited, then, patiently for the bunny to become relaxed. It nibbled cautiously at the food for a few moments before relaxing and eating calmly. Zasha leapt forward through the brush as the rabbit rushed away in a blind panic. Hunger drove Zasha at this point, and her animal instincts took over. Said to be the descendants from wolves, vampires tend to share numerous qualities with them. The lust for blood, the nose, the ears, all tempered with the ability to blend and disappear when needed. Zasha could taste the rabbit even as she chased it through the woods. Clearing the last row of trees, Zasha leapt forward, crashing onto the rabbit. She held the rabbit's legs and it's neck, sinking her fangs deeply through the fur and skin. She drank thirstily, quickly draining the creature. She was surprised though. It did absolutely nothing for her. Her thirst was left unquenchened and her weakness was unrelieved. She skinned, gutted, and sliced up the rabbit meat, storing it in her pack for another time. She looked about and got a rat from the pet store in Larket. She figured that if she ate enough of them, she could quench her thirst that way. After all, she wouldn't have to expend so much energy hunting; she could just buy them. At the moment, despite her growling stomach and her thirst, she could not bring herself to eat the rat. She put it in her pack for another day and headed to her sister's house wearily.

Zasha stayed at her sister's for a few days, sleeping wearily on her living room couch. When Zasha awoke, she realized she would not be leaving the couch again, she was so weak that she could hardly sit up. After she managed to accomplish that feat, all she could move was her head. Lilian showed up around then and met with Zasha, wanting to share the news of her engagement, she asked Zasha to take a walk with her. When Zasha refused and began to dodge and sometimes ignore her questions completely, Lilian quickly realized something was wrong. She used persuasive torture methods to get Zasha to reveal that she could not join her because she could not, in fact, move. Between Sabine and Lilian, they forced her mouth open and eventually got Zasha to feed. Revitalized to the point that she could move again, Zasha fled to the abyssal woods where she cried herself to sleep.

When Zasha rose from the ground, she saw that she was still covered in Lilian's blood. She never really awoke from the nightmare as it now surrounded her. Lost in a depression of sorts, the true Zasha fell into silence and the animal instincts she had harbored and suppressd for so long rose to the surface. She felt like the killer Linas had seen her to be, and she was hungry.

The only real ideals are what the heart and mind imagine. With these beliefs, we can change our environment. We can do anything. That is how I know I am invincable and invisible.
